The Brooklyn Nets were looking to accelerate the rate of their player development, and more effectively convey information to their players.

My Approach

I delivered workshops on the teaching aspect of coaching, and embedded with the coaching staff during practices and games to provide feedback on areas of their coaching they were looking to improve, with an explicit focus on their use of language, use of video, and production of game-planning and advance materials.  I also led a series of professional learning webinars during the NBA’s shut-down in early 2020 due to the COVID pandemic.

Our Results

By the end of the season we had evidence of increased player engagement during team meetings and video sessions, and leveraged the new teaching strategies to effectively onboard four new players onto the team in the 2020 NBA  “Bubble”.
